Are you a seasoned service leader with a "calculated" approach to management? A premier agricultural dealership in Shepparton is seeking a dedicated Service Manager to lead their workshop team. This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established business that values team harmony and a flat management structure over rigid corporate hierarchy.

You will oversee a productive team of technicians and apprentices, ensuring high-quality repairs across several leading machinery brands. While you will drive the department's profitability and efficiency, this is a role for a leader who isn't afraid to put in the extra hours during the busy harvest seasons to support the team and the local farming community.

Role responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a diverse workshop team, assigning jobs based on technician expertise to optimise productivity.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing accurate cost estimates and regular status updates.
• Monitor department KPIs and financial reports to drive profitability and manage direct expenses.
• Collaborate with the parts and sales departments to ensure seamless machinery assembly and pre-delivery.
• Oversee the warranty claim process and ensure all manufacturer service bulletins are actioned.
• Maintain a high standard of workshop safety and quality control to minimise re-work.

Required skills:

• Experience as a Service Manager within the agricultural, industrial, automotive or heavy vehicle sectors.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to discuss technical details clearly with staff and clients.
• Proven leadership skills with an emphasis on emotional intelligence and adaptable management styles.
• Proficiency in Dealership Management Systems (DMS).
• Flexibility to work Saturday mornings and on-call rosters during peak seasonal periods.

Previous exposure to Agricultural and Farming Machinery in a retail or wholesale environment would be advantageous for this position. Candidates who have experience with brands such as John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Fendt, Claas, Kubota, Deutz or similar are strongly encouraged to apply.

A competitive base salary of approximately $130,000 - $145,000 is on offer (negotiable based on experience), plus a company vehicle, mobile phone, and bonus. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
